When I am speaking to clients or doing Marketing Leeds workshops one of the time honoured questions that I am often asked what can we do for free? Well in the first of my blogs on this subject of Marketing tips here are the first ten that should try….
Create a website:
Your site is the touchstone of your online presence and there are numerous places such as WordPress or Wix where you can create your own website free
Submit your website’s URL to search engines
Presenting your vision or sharing your expertise with a live audience is a great way to showcase your business.
If you cannot share the same air as your prospects then why not do a series of one minute video blogs to demonstrate your expertise and make yourself human and help your SEO all in the same go.
Ask clients for referrals
Recent survey showed that 91% of clients would be happy to give a referral but only a small % asked a client for one!
Don’t forget the past
Don’t neglect to treat your older clients and remember them once they have paid their bill or invoice and please keep in contact as they are far more likely to return for more.
Ask a customer to share their experience on their social channels:
We believe a 3rd party don’t we and so when they give you a positive google review or a LinkedIn recommendation this is always far more far more convincing than anything you can “self-promote”.
Initiate a newsletter and grow your subscribers’ base
Email marketing remains a highly effective way to interrelate with prospects and clients.
Send press releases
When you have something interesting happening or landmark or a great and compelling story then create a release and send it to multiple public relations websites.
Write guest posts on relevant blogs
We would actively encourage you to write your own blog but you will reach a broader audience by publishing your posts on blogs that already have a greater reach.
Well that little lot will keep you going for a while and there are always others to add to the list but one of the golden rules to follow is always don’t try and do too much at the same time!!
